Your New 5 Minute Face

For all those babes out there (like myself) that set their alarm for 7am and continue to hit that beloved snooze button until 7.30am aka 10min before you have to leave for work I have something that might just save your ass ahem…I mean time.

If your job requires you to rock up in more than just your pj’s and you haven’t been blessed by the beauty gods with the gift to roll out of bed looking like a Victoria Secret model then girl I got you…

Below you will find a magic recipe for a 5 minute face that has been primped and perfected over many years with all it’s secret ingredient included…you can thank me later…

First, before you start make sure to cleanse & moisturise your face, this will give you the best base to work with.

1 | Not to prime is a crime

Take one pump of your fave primer (mine is the Hourglass Mineral Veil primer) and massage that out and upwards around your face. Hot tip…never massage anything down your face because that’s how wrinkles appear.

2 |Sun protection & skin tone

To cut down on time and on products I take a BB cream that acts as a light foundation  and as a SPF like my fave Bare Minerals Complexion Rescue. Place small dots all around your face and either use your fingers or a brush to blend.

3 | Conceal those dark circles

For those gals out that that have been blessed with dark circles (no amount of sleep can cure) place a few dots around your eyes or anywhere that needs extra coverage and use a fluffy brush or beauty sponge to blend in.

4 | Set it all in place

To make sure that nothing budges during the day take a light dusting around your face, concentrating on your T zone especially if you have more combination / oily skin.

5 | Add that flush and glow

For that summer dewy sun kissed glow I can’t go past the The Balm Luminizer’s Palette. I use a really fluffy brush with a light hand and dust the bronzer, blush and highlighter in all the appropriate places.

6| Face framers

In a day in age where you can get your eyebrows tattooed and lash extensions you can’t really miss these steps. Apply a quick coat of your fave mascara (mine is the Maybeline Lash Sensational) and use an eyebrows pencil just to fill in those sparse areas my latest favourite is the Tarte Amazonian Clay waterproof eyebrow pencil.

7 | Final touch

To complete the look don’t forget your lips! I use my trusty Lanolips balm for a super glossy finish, however those gals in more corporate roles you can never go wrong with a red lip.

Now that you look a little bit more presentable, get dressed and grab that coffee to-go girl cause you don’t want to be late!
