Detoxing IN + OUT

A broken heart can often lead into a generally unhealthy lifestyle, physically and mentally. Coming from exactly this myself, I resulted in running myself into the ground with excessive drinking, over use of social media and an extremely poor diet, which eventually lead into feeling generally unhappy. After testing my partying limits and rolling into work every Monday morning asking myself “why me?” I decided to detox myself inside and out! Deleting anything toxic in my life, I started focusing on a positive headspace and lifestyle… I was pleasantly surprised with the outcome.

Heres a little guide to my kinda detox;FullSizeRender-5.jpg
Start by hitting up your local farmers markets and organising your week diet plan with pretty much anything green! Smoothies, tea, salads, fruit and veg – you know
the drill. The first couple of days of being deprived of your usual sugar consumption will feel like absolute hell but the cravings will eventually ease after hitting halfway.

When it comes to alcohol, as like any other detox, this is a no go. I know it’s tough keeping that glass of red off the dinner table but if you’re anything like me, one glass eventually leads into 2 or 3 or 4. Your liver will thank you later.
Tip: Have an early dinner to deter yourself from cracking that wine bottle.

Amongst your physical cleanse, remember that detoxing your thoughts is just as important as your body. Fly solo for a while and give yourself the chance to reconnect with yourself. Delete any social media apps off your phone and take a step back from any half ass friendships and unnecessary drama. Go for a long run blaring your favourite playlist or book somewhere therapeutic for the weekend. Making small changes in your daily routine can make a huge difference mentally!

If I, myself can manage to complete a week of this… well there’s hope for everyone x
