We’ve Got A Bad Case Of Splendour Fever… And We Like It

Sitting in the car, stuck it traffic on my way to work, listening to Triple J. Felt like any other weekday morning but it wasn’t. It was the start of my birthday week and the morning SPLENDOUR IN THE GRASS 2016’s line-up would be announced. In the words of Eminem, “…palms are sweaty, knees weak, arms are heavy,” and maybe the fact that my heart was beating out of my chest with excitement and anxiousness, pretty much sums up exactly how I felt in that split second of silence before they started announcing the line-up… and what a CRACKER of a line-up it is.

Headlining this year, all the way from New York, The Strokes will be joining us, which will be their ONLY AUS show – no pressure or anything! That goes the same for The Avalanches too (holy almighty, they haven’t played a gig in like forever), as well as Sigur Ros and James Vincent McMorrow (I die).

Added to the list of artists and bands I’d love to see are:

The Cure (that’s a given)
Flume
James Blake
Violent Soho
Hermitude
Santigold
Matt Corby
Sticky Fingers
The Preatures
Years + Years
Gang Of Youths
Ball Park Music
Band Of Horses
Tegan & Sara
DMA’s
City Calm Down
The Internet
Snakeships
Hayden James

Annnnnnnnnnnnd as you can imagine, the list goes on . So pretty much EVERY bloody ONE!

So I guess all we can do now is play the waiting game… Thursday 21st of April everybody. That day will hold the fate of whether or not I will be attending the best weekend of my life.

Good luck babes!
