I’m sure we are all far too familiar with that over-worked, over-tired, over-absolutely-everything feeling…we work so much that we don’t take a well deserved timeout when we need to. We don’t let our bodies or minds recuperate properly from the daily grind, and unfortunately most of us don’t realise how important it is to take time for ourselves

One should never underestimate the satisfaction that comes with not having to set an alarm for the next morning, because let’s face it we all look forward to the weekends purely because it’s a decent amount of time to simply relax. It’s at this point when we need to add a few changes into our routines/lifestyles so we aren’t wishing away our Monday-Friday for our chance to finally take some time out!

Here’s a few life hacks that might make you enjoy life a little bit more..


Yep, turn off your phone & disconnect from the world…if only just for a few hours. I would hate to think of the hours that we spend scrolling and texting on a weekly/monthly/yearly basis, so learn to not NEED to know what’s going on in the cyber world.


Because if you do have the luxury of having a bath, it’d be rude not to use it. Unwind in the calmness of a milk or bubble bath, set a few candles & enjoy some quality time with just your thoughts.


When have you ever watched an episode of friends and not laughed? It feels good to smile, so do more of it & don’t feel guilty about watching 7 episodes in one night…there are worse addictions after all.


Get out of that routine of yours that you are oh so comfortable in and do something different. Be enlightened by the thought of change and trying new things. Take up Pilates or Yoga and do something that benefits you whilst engaging in a new environment.


Whether it be for an hour, a night or a weekend.. learn to love your own company & enjoy doing things by yourself. You’d be surprised at how much you don’t know about yourself, so spend ‘me’ time…but most importantly, be content with being alone.


Cleanse the f@*K out of your social life.. it’s as simple as that. Detach from the drama and don’t feel obligated to associate with people who don’t bring out the best in you. Be selfish when it comes to choosing who you enjoy life with.
